February is African-American History Month — an opportunity to celebrate all the many contributions African-Americans have made to our country, as well as to remember the struggles they have faced. Our first-ever Celebrating African-American History Month section profiles black American leaders and organizations, and it includes ideas for readers about how to join the celebration in their community. We also include a story about the newly opened Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
