Description
Local businesses keep their profit in town where it helps the economy; they pay taxes to support local services; they provide jobs for local people; and small-business owners are often the backbone of the community, filling leadership roles and volunteering to help worthy causes.
But do your readers know this?
To help spread the word about the “shop local” movement – and drive sales at your paper at the same time – Green Shoot Media created our Shop Local special section. It’s all about why spending your money locally is better for the community and better for shoppers.
You can save time, money and gas by shopping in town. You’re keeping your downtown alive, getting more personalized service and helping your friends and neighbors in the community. Our special section explains all this and more.
ADD LOCAL PHOTOS
We designed this section using eye-catching photography that will work for any newspaper. But if you really want to spice up the section, you can add photos of local business owners in your city, putting familiar faces behind the “shop local” logic.
You could draw a box on top of our existing photos and replace it with your own local images. It should be easy for your graphics department to do.
Like all our sections, Shop Local is designed to fit either a full tabloid page or the top half of a broadsheet. It’s seven pages of content, plus tab and broadsheet covers.
